Marking the 10 year anniversary of its premiere, Red Shift will present David Lang's Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award-winning the little match girl passion. Winner of the Julius Herford Dissertation Prize for his research on Lang's choral masterwork, Trey Davis will offer a pre-concert lecture on the genesis and construction of the passion, a reexamination of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale, “The Little Match Girl.”
